Arjun's Love Letters

Guru Ram Das had sent his youngest son, Arjun, away to do some work for the Guru. From his longing to be with his father he wrote a series of beautiful letters. His older brother became very jealous and showed himself not worthy of the Guruship. Arjun wrote the letters with such devotion and longing that they have the power of 1,000 shabds. The Gaddi was given to him and he became Guru Arjun Dev ji.

Akali Phula Singh

The Akalis were great Khalsa warriors of Guru Gobind Singh. Long after Guru Gobind Singh's time, during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, there was a purely devoted fearless Khalsa named Akali Phula Singh. After taking a hukam from the Guru he wouldn't delay his battle plan to attack at dawn. He was the only one to charge in to battle against the Afghan army at first. He fought bravely without fear of death. He said, "The Khalsa of Guru Gobind Singh can do anything."

This story took place not very long ago. A girl going to college serves her sick brother with sincere dedication. After a series of meetings with a divine character her faith is strengthened. She realizes there is great power in prayer and God can come to us in our normal lives.

Bhoomi Daku's Promise to the Guru

A robber named, Bhumi Daku, met Guru Nanak. He promised the Guru certain things. Later these promises made chaos as they changed how he could steal from people. The whole scene gets turned up side down but Bhumi Daku kept his promises to the Guru. He ended up learning a great lesson. The Guru taught him in such a wonderful way!

Bibi Bhani and the Platform

Once Guru Amar Das ji was in deep, deep meditation. His daughter, Bibi Bhani, saw that the platform he was on was going to break and he would be jolted awake when that happens. She put her hand in the way. Her hand got cut really bad. When Guru ji saw her pain and devotion he granted her a blessing. She asked that the Guruship always stay in her family line. The rest of the Gurus were descendants of Bibi Bhani and Guru Ram Das.
